I wrote an entire series of instrumental parts for a Cabaret show today – ten in total – while still having time for lots of other things. It’s a project that would have taken me a week a decade ago.
Speed picks up over time. Part of it is a new version of computer software that helps me do the work more quickly. More of it is my own learning – learning how to navigate the software more quickly, but more importantly learning how to do this work efficiently. I also think the parts look a lot better than the ones I did ten years ago.
If we do the work right, we can do it better and more quickly over time. We pick up speed and skill.
