Slow Time

“This document is from a long time ago–2016.”

That’s a sentence I heard today, and it was perfectly appropriate in context.

And it’s all too common these days to live in fast time. Fast as in, this podcast is outdated – it came out in 2018. It came out on Monday. It came out at 2pm. We live our lives in Fast Time – as in, news articles are too old, I need to see what’s happening on Twitter. As in, what have you posted today?

It’s good to balance it with Slow Time. Slow as in, the pace of a good novel. Slow as in, music that was written two centuries ago. Slow as in, a long walk with no technology involved.

Take a step away from Fast Time and allow Slow Time to work its magic.
