If you’re like me and my family, it’s increasingly difficult to take a full break from your digital life. It’s, I think, a near-universal problem, across all ages.
So I think back to a lovely week this summer at a place called Singing Brook Farm – a place with no wifi, no cell service. It was our third time there, and each week has been a balm.
Today we’ll be instituting a family-wide “Singing Brook Day” – all the devices will be out of sight and unavailable. I expect temptation and pushback, but I also look forward to board games and holiday decorating.
Feel free to adopt the term and try it yourself – or name it after your own favorite digitally quiet spot.
