The longest night of the year is just about over (sorry, southern-hemisphere readers).
From here, days will start to grow longer, bit by bit – even as the weather gets colder (presumably – my forecasted high is 61ºF today!)
Here are three choral versions of Silent Night to enjoy at the conclusion of this longest night.
1. The Real Group. This is the version I picked for my Ultimate Christmas Playlist last year. Such lovely writing and singing.
2. The Singers Unlimited. Gene Puerling’s vision of where to take the piece is remarkable. Especially that gorgeous second verse.
3. Chanticleer. A beautiful arrangement from Michael McGlynn for choir and soprano soloist – here the wonderful Dawn Upshaw.
