Creating is the act of repeatedly rediscovering how.
In some fields, there might be a sense of repetition – to the point of predictability. But to create is to approach each project, each day, with the humility of not knowing how to proceed. The job is to discover how, and then know that tomorrow, next week, next project, you’ll have to discover how all over again.
It’s how I know that teaching is a creative discipline. Because teaching requires the same repeated act of rediscovering how.
