I’ve never done this before after recording sessions.
I’ve started doing rough-mix sneak previews of some of my recordings, fresh from the studio. Usually I need some distance before I can begin mixing, but I like the chance to get my students excited about the coming finished product. It will be a long wait for them until the album is released, and having a little taste of the tracks might just tide them over.
It also, I think, will get them excited about the next sessions, whether additional group sessions or solo overdub sessions.
