Quiet Moment

I need a quiet moment to write each day.

And quiet moments don’t happen by accident. Between work responsibilities, home responsibilities, and the onslaught of news, podcasts, social media, and on and on, it’s very easy to make it through a day without finding a single quiet moment.

It’s one of the things this daily practice makes me most grateful for. I am forced, at least once a day, to quiet my mind enough to notice and to write. I relish the quiet, and when I’m finished with my writing, I want to keep the quiet going.

These moments don’t happen by accident, and they refill my well and ground me. That’s enough motivation for me to keep going every day.

What about you? How do you find quiet moments? What daily practice would help you find more of them?
