Some of my favorite music-making happens at ensemble gatherings.
Not rehearsals. Not concerts. Gatherings.
For example, the Annual Aces Christmas Party I just came from.
Why?
- Because we’re gathered as friends
- Because we’re laughing and joking before we sing, after we sing – even while we sing
- Because we’re not anxious about anything, we’re truly just singing into the present moment.
- Because we’re doing it for us.
I love sharing music with an audience. I love the work of rehearsals. But there’s something so special about making music like this, at an ensemble gathering.
