Sometimes I look at the mass of brilliant music I love and think, all the good ideas are taken. The are no new ideas.
But I think the truth is that there has always been a shortage of good new ideas…as a percentage of all ideas. There are simply way more bad ideas than good ones.
The good ideas weren’t all taken before you started creating: there are plenty more, nestled among several orders of magnitude more bad ideas.
Have more ideas, and if you’re lucky, you’ll find a good new idea once in a while.
