Moment of Quiet

I don’t know what the day means until I’ve found a moment of quiet. Quiet from the world – both online and off. Quiet from music, quiet, from the radio or television. Quiet from the to do list.

It’s only in that moment of quiet that I can step back and see the bigger picture: the story framing the events of the day or week.

Don’t neglect your own moments of quiet. It’s all too easy to avoid quiet from the moment you wake up until your eyes close at the  end of the day. But without those moments of quiet, where do you find the time to reflect?

I try to keep my car quiet on the way home from rehearsals. I try to make sure I wake up early enough to have quiet with a cup of tea before the house is moving. I try to end the day with a moment or two of quiet.

Find the moment, whenever it is, and make sure you get to it.
