I made big progress on my book this weekend!
Most of it was unplanned progress, and a reminder that every journey has unexpected turns. The publishing company I’m using provided an InDesign guide with borders that did not match the ones I was working from when I built my book InDesign document in 2019. Who knows why? Maybe the requirements have changed, maybe I used my best guess rather than finding a template to work from.
Regardless, I had to entirely re-typeset my book this weekend (!), including editing and replacing every musical example in the book (!!). Not an easy task!!! Though it was made significantly easier by some learning and systems-thinking I did when I started work on the book all those years ago.
I’ve now sent a fresh copy to proof and I’m optimistic that I’ll actually be sending the book to print this week.
In the meantime, I’ve also made some significant design changes to my cover. Here’s the final version to whet your appetite for the book!
This has almost definitely been one of the hardest projects I’ve ever worked on – a marathon in the truest sense. I’m so excited to have the end in sight.
