Mea Culpa & Move On

We are all too busy, we are all trying to do more in less time than we used to.

So when you drop a ball, I think the three steps you should take are:

  1. Pick it up. Fix the problem, restart a stalled project, or repair broken pieces.
  2. Make a mea culpa. Apologize. Own the problem. Your own self.
  3. Move on. Don’t spend time recriminating or wallowing.

It wasn’t my plan to take the summer off of writing my weekly newsletters, and I admit a felt a little pang of guilt each week, knowing that there are some friends and colleagues who only read my daily writings via that medium. So I started back up this week, apologized to the recipients, made a promise to myself to prioritize this work harder, and moved on to the next thing on my ever-lengthening list. (If you subscribe, I promise to try my hardest to deliver something interesting to your inbox each week.
