Lady, Be Good

The New York Voices are in their last year touring before retirement!

New York Voices has been the gold standard for over thirty-five years. They’ve created iconic recordings in the ’80s, ’90s, ’00s, ’10s – and it seems we may still expect an iconic recording in the ’20s before their impending retirement.

With all the amazing music they’ve recorded, my heart always comes back to their arrangement of the Gershwins’ “Oh, Lady Be Good.” The brilliant writing, the clever lyrics, the interpolated Ella Fitzgerald scat solo – it’s everything I love in vocal harmony music. I’ve loved this arrangement since I bought the CD (at Harmony House in 1993!)
