Sometimes teaching the same basic skills over and over can leave your shoulders sagging. Proper microphone cord coiling…again? Holding an SM58? Hearing and tuning a just-tuned third…for the 4,000th time?!
And yet, there is joy in teaching these basic skills again. Especially in using the language “I get to.”
I get to be the one to make sure you coil cables properly. I get to make sure you use a microphone effectively for the rest of your life. I get to help you to hear and sing beyond what you can currently hear and sing!
With that mentality, you can look your students in the eyes and joyfully teach the lesson you’ve taught countless times before. Because you get to be the one to teach it.
