Last night, I got to hear several wonderful speeches from the newest inductees to the Rockford Public Schools Hall of Fame.
I left with this quote running through my mind – spoken by RHS ’70 Alumnus Leonard Post, who is responsible for developing cancer drugs and other achievements in biochemistry.
“If I have achieved any success in my life, it is thanks to those who taught me along the way.”
We should all take the time to reflect on the sources of our success – and thank them while we can. He name-checked teachers who might have retired nearly a half-century ago, but who still figure into the way he views the world.
Appreciate the teachers who have shaped your success–and as a teacher, be the person that shapes your students’ lives.
