“Graduation is a beginning, not an ending,” I found myself saying to a senior student yesterday.
It sounds a little trite, but it’s absolutely the truth.
It’s the beginning of more freedom, more choice, more direction, more passion.
Now, how you handle those things can very quickly make it seem like graduation was an ending. So make good choices with your newfound freedom, and follow your passions in a positive direction.
Congratulations, Class of 2016. I’ve had a marvelous four years with you and can’t wait to see where tomorrow takes you.
(and keep singing! It will serve you well, whatever you do in life.)
