A break! Today you haven’t heard your choirs for a few days.
You’ve been relaxing, traveling, maybe overeating a little….
You can come into today’s rehearsal with fresh ears. Since the start of the school year, the longest you’ve gone has been *maybe* a long weekend. Your choir’s sound has remained fresh.
As of today it’s been five or even six days since you’ve heard them.
Don’t think of it as a liability – think of it as an opportunity. Walk into rehearsal and listen to them like a stranger. Really hear your choir for what they are, stripped of your familiarity.
Listen with fresh ears, then use that freshness to springboard them to the next level.
A break can be a chance to lose ground – or a chance to race forward. Your choice.
Use those fresh ears while you have them. They’ll be gone tomorrow.
