First, Enthusiasm

Before anything, the leader must be enthusiastic.

Later, we can be demanding and encouraging. We can offer strategies, set deadlines, and offer critiques.

We can do all the things that it takes to get to excellence. But first, enthusiasm.

I find that leading with enthusiasm as a starting place is the most effective, infectious way to get an ensemble all moving in the same direction. If I am enthusiastic about the project, you will be too.
