What’s the Story? I initially wrote this arrangement for GCII at WMU when they were conducted by Kelly Ann Nelson. I’ve since revised and re-notated it for publication with Anchor Music. I think there’s a real need for more big band/vocal group arrangements that are accessible for high school groups. It’s swinging, inspired by the classic Nat “King” Cole recording. There is room for vocal or instrumental improvisation as well as a scat soli. The Rockford HS Chamber Singers (not a vocal jazz ensemble) sang it this year very successfully alongside the Rockford High School big band.
