Don’t worry so much about the right path.
I’ve watched nine different conductors lead the Michigan All-State Jazz Choir.
Every single one has chosen a different path. All have gotten their ensemble where it was going.
The best conductors are the ones who choose their path because it aligns to them. Their values, their interests, their strengths.
Rather than trying to follow the path of your hero, follow the path you’re on. You’ll be more successful, and it’ll be easier to lead people.
