It’s good to get under the stage lights ahead of time.
Many of the people I conduct across the years get a deer in headlights the first time they’re under stage lights. It’s kind of uncanny.
This year, for the first time, I had my RAMChoir spend a little time on stage ahead of their concert tomorrow night. And for the first time, we were able to (1) have the deer-in-headlights moment and (2) discuss the phenomenon. It’s my hope that this will help them move past that and back into comfortable music making tomorrow night.
