Creativity is a Practice

I do not aspire to do the creative equivalent of Newton creating calculus in a pandemic. Setting your intention is important, and intending to upend the world with your output in this pandemic is ludicrous: the memes asking you to compare yourself to Newton or other creative superheroes are misguided.

But I do intend to continue making creativity a daily practice. I don’t believe that setting aside my creative work will (a) help me thrive through the isolation or (b) lead to renewed creativity on the other side.

Creativity is a practice, and I am continuing my practice, with necessary adjustments, as I go through my days and weeks at home.

I am viewing my creative work as I always have: as something to occupy my mind, uplift my soul, and delight my imagination.
