Summer is great – full of the impromptu time with family and friends that being a choir teacher doesn’t often afford during the school year.
But the impromptu gets hard. I think human beings crave routine. I can’t wait for the regular schedule of a bus arriving, predictable rehearsal times, and being able to fit my writing into a specific time of day.
By June, I’ll be craving freedom from the routine again, I’m sure. But for now, the alarm clock, the school bell, and the Google calendar are calling to me. My productivity spikes when I know what my days look like.
What about you? How does the presence or absence routine affect your day-to-day life?
