Consistency is Better Than Brilliance

Consistency is better than brilliance.

The best is to be consistently brilliant, but if I have to choose, I will choose the consistently good performer over the occasionally brilliant performer. This is all-too often overlooked in auditions, interviews, and other adjudications. We are drawn to brilliance, but we rely on consistency to produce results.

Consistency also grows – so the consistently good today can be consistently great in three months.
