Beautiful But Wrong

I am looking out my window at absolutely beautiful snow-covered trees.

Beautiful but wrong.

I want my trees to be snowy white in December, but when April rolls around, I am ready for clear roads for walking and driving, and warm sunny days for breathing in fresh air and seeing plants come alive.

It’s only too true that music is that way. Your favorite, most beautiful piece may be out of season for the group in front of you. And conversely, you might be struck by out-of-season beauty that fits the group, even if you weren’t looking for it.

Beautiful but wrong, perhaps…but not everything is in our control, and we do ourselves well to enjoy beauty wherever we find it. Even if it’s not the beauty we want.
