Audition Readiness

Here are ten little pieces of audition advice to help students be extra ready for their next opportunity.

  1. Practice all audition components, multiple times.
  2. Try to create a real-life audition simulation.
  3. Get feedback, even if it’s painful to ask.
  4. Be more ready than you think you need to be.
  5. Ask questions ahead of time if you don’t know the answer.
  6. Dress to impress.
  7. Shake hands, say thank you.
  8. Don’t apologize for making mistakes – everyone does.
  9. Bring all required materials.
  10. Trust the person on the other side to make the best decision they can.
