I decided to write daily on my website in the early fall of 2014. The last day I missed publishing was November 3, 2014, making today my eighth anniversary of an unbroken streak of writing. At this point, I’m closing in on a 3,000 day streak and have written over 600,000 words.
I still love doing it. I still love noticing something, then putting it into words, every single day. I think that paying attention in this way has made me a better teacher, a better musician, a better human. It is manageable but rigorous, and it forces me to stay alert.
Thank you for reading along with me. If you’d like to support me in this continuing journey, consider joining my Patreon, which supports this website and also offers some of my compositions and arrangements to supporters as rewards.
I’ll be back tomorrow. And the day after that.
