All A Game

Less working at music and more playing with music.

The best music I create comes when I let go of expectations and play. I try things that might not work, I make mistakes and keep going, I “wonder if” and I follow that wondering.

Of course it’s work. Of course I have to grind out the practice to get consistent and to grow. Of course it’s not all fun.

But the more I treat music as if it’s all a game, and the less I’m tied to the outcome, the more the music seems to gain spirit.

You got into music because it was joyful. More of that, please.
