Science YouTuber Mark Rober has a fun video about making great Pinewood Derby cars.
One point he makes is that it’s good to concentrate as much weight as possible in the back of the car, because it spends longer on the slope, adding speed till the end.
That’s why I like having a concert event as late as possible in the year. Even though it might mean fighting against tired out students who are ready to coast, the motivation of the concert is like the weight in the vehicle – it keeps you motivated longer and adds an extra boost of speed.
How do you spend the end of the year, and how can you leverage a late event to make sure that you’re helping your students win their races?
