I’m in the middle of mixing the Rockford Aces‘ third studio album. It’s an exciting and mentally exhausting process.

| That’s a lot of tracks to mix… |
This time around, I’m thanking myself for being more demanding in the studio. Even though time is money during the tracking sessions, every minute spent getting closer to an ideal product then saves many minutes during the mixing process.
It’s easy to say, “we can fix that in the mix” but it’s a lot easier to fix it now.
The choice is clear: take a little time now to make it better, or take a long time later to clean it up.
